per[FORM] Open Rehearsal: R&D
On 7th June 2018, Reside Dance C.I.C. held an open rehearsal in a make-shift, temporary structure built by architecture students at University of Reading.
Passers-by left their responses on the structure for Sophie and Sarah to incorporate into their embodied improvisations. Responses made aimed to answer the following questions:
Do you have any memories of and/ or ideas on the university’s identity as a campus, a university and/or a place and if so, what are they?
How do you envision the arts and creativity fitting into that identity and does it include developing a sense of togetherness, belonging and/ or community for staff, students, visiors and residents inside and outside of the university grounds?
The rehearsal sparked a lot of interest and conversations – from dog walkers to staff and students – all really enjoyed encountering their improvisations.
